History

The Memorial Grounds at Castlecroft were purchased in the late 1940’s and continue to provide the centre for the sporting and social activities.

The Cricket and Football clubs continue to play most of their fixtures there, although, with the expansion of both bodies, cricket is also played at Danescourt, whilst the School do make their facilities available when football fixtures require additional pitches.

The Hockey Club, following the advent of Astroturf, is obliged to use the School and other facilities. There is a project under consideration which would enhance the facilities at Castlecroft, including the building of an astro-pitch, but, as yet, this scheme is still in its infancy.
